Leaving this bug open for a newcomer claim. Session.el was removed from goodies in commit 344060a9b6fbaa612998a47cb36d995491cd3f27 Comment added to d/control Dependency section as a reminder that the team will need to elpafy packages such as these before the freeze, if a newcomer doesn't step forward.
