Or maybe this bug is not about the hostname at all, but instead about the path to the binary. That's my experience, at least. The hostname bug https://bugzilla.sudo.ws/show_bug.cgi?id=757 got fixed in sudo 1.8.18, so in Stretch I should have the fix, and yet I still have trouble with NOPASSWD: which I hence reported as a new bug: <https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=901762>.
