Dear all Thanks to all the past and present contributors to the Perl scripts in our webwml repo, we have nice "dashboards" for translators to keep track of what's up to date or outdated in the Debian website. These pages are in the form https://www.debian.org/devel/website/stats/xx (xx being the 2-code language digit). For outdated translations, we have some links to diffs in Salsa that I suggest to rethink, and maybe change them to other thing. Those links are of the type: (example for /spanish/intro/help.wml) Diff: text: 167c966b6363 → b0a7173484a7 alt: Commit diff link: https://salsa.debian.org/webmaster-team/webwml/compare?from=167c966b63631bcd2668bf5d49ae21952f6d11c7&to=b0a7173484a7c517a30aa1fd7c4bf04ddf081b99 text: 167c966b6363 → b0a7173484a7 (+/-) alt: Git command line link: https://salsa.debian.org/webmaster-team/webwml/compare?from=167c966b6363&to=b0a7173484a7 We have some problems with those links: * They frequently timeout and generate an error in Salsa ("502"), because processing the request takes more than 60 seconds. * They are accessible by bots/spammers and can generate undesired traffic/attacks to salsa.debian.org * After clicking in "Compare" and if you get the actual diff, you need to drop down the list of files and choose the file that you were tracking in the translation dashboard. This is not very quick and also some diffs that include many files even don't show the complete list of files/changes. My suggestion is to change the links for two lines of alternative info: * A link to the history in Salsa of the English file. E.g.: https://salsa.debian.org/webmaster-team/webwml/commits/master/english/intro/index.wml * A "copypaste"-prepared git diff command, of the type: git diff 167c966b63631bcd2668bf5d49ae21952f6d11c7 b0a7173484a7c517a30aa1fd7c4bf04ddf081b99 -- english/intro/index.wml or git diff 167c966b6363 b0a7173484a7 -- english/intro/index.wml I will try to produce a patch in the following days but I would like to know the opinion of other translators too.
