Package: powerline
Severity: important
Version: 2.6-1

Hi,

src:powerline builds bin:powerline which is arch-dependent in order to
use powerline.c (fast) instead of powerline.py (slow).

The build-system automatically uses powerline.py as a fallback should,
during the build for whatever reason, the compilation of powerline.c
fail (this fallback should probably be turned off in the debian package
in order to avoid silent failures in the future).

Starting from version 2.6-1, Debian uses gcc-7 and the compilation of
powerline.c fails, which results in getting the Python implementation
instead of the C implementation in the package.

While looking into this, I saw that Fedora already has a patch for that.
I'll send a patch for this after recieving the bug number.

Regards,
Daniel
