Package: zlib1g Version: 1:1.2.3-9 Severity: wishlist Tags: d-i Let's call this an important wishlist bug (important for Debian Installer anyway :-)
Please add the following line to your debian/shlibs file: udeb: libz 1 zlib1g-udeb (>= 1:1.2.1) This will allow dpkg/debhelper to properly set the dependencies for udebs that depend on zlib1g. Please see #345472 and #345475 for further info on this. This will also mean that, eventually, we will be able to drop the "Provides: zlib1g" for the udeb, but we cannot do that until other udebs that currently depend on zlib1g and not zlib1g-udeb have been rebuilt. It would be very much appreciated if this change could be implemented soon as a lot of libraries that need a similar change depend on zlib1g so fixing those makes sense only after a new zlib1g is available in unstable. TIA, Frans Pop P.S. debhelper also supports automatically generating the new udeb: line for shlibs (see #345471), but AFAICT you have the shlibs file "hardcoded" in the tree and thus that is not relevant. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.8-16s1.0601-1 Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=en_US (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Versions of packages zlib1g depends on: ii libc6 2.3.6-3 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an zlib1g recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
