mercurial-git is broken by api changes in python-dulwich 19.1 currently in testing. Upstream bug here - https://bitbucket.org/durin42/hg-git/issues/236/issues-when-used-with-dulwich-019 In the mean time downgrading to the version of python-dulwich in stable works.
