I can’t reproduce this problem.

How outdated was your sid chroot? If it had not been updated for years, that
may explain this (because liblapack was renamed a couple of years ago).

Also, have you been able to finish the installation process by retrying it? Or
is octave still in a unconfigured state even after this?
