i think debcommit could just support both, and not necessarily choose one
or the other, after all it's a tool to help developers being more
productive, not to force one specific way of writing debian/changelog
entries.

since you mentioned your way, what if you have 4 changes, all in
debian/control? you have 4 lines prefixed with `debian/control: '? it seems
like a waste of space and decreases the signal/noise ratio in the commit
message; but after all is been said and done, it comes down to personal
preferences.

i still think my wishlist request is worth being implemented.
