Today, my machines (stretch) got the same problem gnome-session-binary[1201]: WARNING: IceLockAuthFile failed: File exists.
Apparently the problem is invented by linux-image-4.9.0-6 which was automatically installed yesterday. Reverted to 4.9.0-5, problem is gone.
