Dear Graham,

I am aware of the fork, and I have previously considered switching upstream
sources. Last time I checked the fork was developed by people not using
Linux, and Linux testing was hardly done. Also, they never asked the
original developer for permisission to continue development under the same
name.
Mr. Sidorov (the original author) has not abandoned the project, but states
a lack of time. He has been responsive fixing bugs in Debian that I have
contacted him about. This would have been so much easier if the fork
continued development under a new name, then we could have both in Debian.
It looks like there are more developers for the fork now, so maybe it is
worth looking into it again.

Sincerely,
Andreas
