Package: fritzing
Version: 0.9.3b+dfsg-4.1
Followup-For: Bug #893462

Dear Maintainer,

I can confirm this bug on both current Stretch and Buster, as well as
Stretch with the fritzing package from Unstable: when launched from a
terminal, Fritzing shows its splash-screen for a prolonged period and
then causes a segfault.

To reproduce see OP.

When started via the Applications menu (under Xfce here, if of any
importance), that is by clicking the menu entry
Applications->Electronics->Fritzing, the application starts up fine,
shows its main window and seems usable (version 0.9.3b+dfsg-4.1).

It would be nice if the command-line launcher could be repaired though.
There's maybe other CLI folks like me: until I discovered by chance
today that the menu entry actually launches a working fritzing, I was
stuck like the OP with fritzing segfaulting every now and then when I
tried launching it from the terminal, which led me to believe that this
package had bitrotten and was broken - I'd have started using fritzing
long ago!
