It is mostly that I don't know the internals of dgit (and was afraid to dive into it) and was expecting it to come up with the fingerprint itself somehow. You have shown it is in the test suite, and if dgit remains working please ignore my comment. Paul P.S. I probably should put a long fingerprint in my ~/.devscripts soon ;) Will do that right away.
