I emailed the BTS with the diff on Thursday last week. The BTS says it forwarded the email to you: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=853714#21 If you don't want the package in the next release, you should file a separate RC bug for it or at minimum email the bug explaining why it is still open.
