tags -1 + moreinfo unreproducible thanks I note that the code that should be doing what is requested in this bug, has been present since 2010. Namely the umask 077 before the mkdir.
That being the case, I assume that there was something unusual about the target system that caused the umask not to work as expected for some reason. It's a shame that I didn't notice this bug when it was reported, and therefore didn't ask for additional information in a timely manner. Sorry about that. Cheers, Phil. P.S.
