I also have this problem. Contrary to what Martin Wimpress said at https://github.com/mate-desktop/caja-dropbox/issues/27#issuecomment-373908072, I have the exact problem described by the original poster here on Debian, with my system as up-to-date as possible. Just for the record, I'm not using any indicator applet (to be sure, I always get confused between this indicator vs. notification thing). Also, I'm not sure if the workaround suggested at https://github.com/mate-desktop/caja-dropbox/issues/27#issuecomment-373982493 is supposed to fix things only for those people using the indicator applet or to everybody, but I just did the following at a terminal and the dropdown menus continue with the same problem: export XDG_DESKTOP_SESSION=Unity caja-dropbox start Should I do anything else?
