We are currently seeking to remove Tcl/Tk 8.5 from Debian because it's reached the end-of-life. Unfortunately, wavesurfer still depends on it, and fixing that isn't as easy as replacing tk8.5 by tk in debian/control (I've tried and stumbled onto some bugs with callbacks which didn't manifest themselves on 8.5).
