The only way to make a update/upgrade ist uninstall the program webwasher with "apt-get remove --purge". Without "-purge" the problem still exists. THX for your help. Tilo Here is the description: Problems with apt-get/dpkg after Webwasher installation On debian after installing the deb-package of Webwasher 5.3 apt-get and all programs using apt-get (like aptitude and synaptic) don't work any longer. For example any apt-get command returns "E: Unable to parse package file /var/lib/dpkg/status (1)" For every package dpkg installs there is an entry in the file /var/lib/dpkg/status with information about the package (for example a list of installed "configuration" files). The problem is that apt-get has a limit of 32KB for every package entry it reads from this file. Webwasher 5.3 has reached this limit due to the number of "configuration" files (error templates count as configuration files). This is a clearly a bug in apt-get. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
