I imitated the upstream test page (http://ichord.github.io/Caret.js/), with the packaged JS file and it seems to be working similarly. I think it is safe to assume the package is fit for unstable (and eventually testing), where it may undergo more extensive tests and actual usage as part of GitLab/Pagure packages. Attaching my test file, in case someone else want to try. It is merely the source of the upstream test page with the script tag pointing to the packaged JS.
