The dbus method sounds like it's here to stay, as it seems fairly
lightweight... Would it be possible for you to link to that library,
and engage that delay lock if it exists (hopefully it doesn't croak
if logind isn't there)? It seems that the other libraries xscreensaver
already depends on pull libdbus in anyway, so there's no extra overhead
in that regard.
