uname -m returned i386 - because I replaced uname with a script that returns i386 instead of the usual x86_64 (in order to make the Linux kernel configure and make machinery compile for i386 (diskless clients) instead of x86_64). Versions 2.3.5-13 as well as 2.3.6-2 work with the original uname.
