Package: xl2tpd Version: 1.3.10-1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
I try to setup a VPN connection, after initializing ipsec I start xl2tpd which tries to start pppd. I noticed the following entries in syslog: Jan 17 14:19:36 shannara xl2tpd[11458]: start_pppd: I'm running: Jan 17 14:19:36 shannara xl2tpd[11458]: "/usr/sbin/pppd" Jan 17 14:19:36 shannara xl2tpd[11458]: "plugin" Jan 17 14:19:36 shannara xl2tpd[11458]: "pppol2tp.so" Jan 17 14:19:36 shannara xl2tpd[11458]: "pppol2tp" Jan 17 14:19:36 shannara xl2tpd[11458]: "7" Jan 17 14:19:36 shannara xl2tpd[11458]: "passive" Jan 17 14:19:36 shannara xl2tpd[11458]: "nodetach" Jan 17 14:19:36 shannara xl2tpd[11458]: ":10.64.64.64" Jan 17 14:19:36 shannara xl2tpd[11458]: "debug" Jan 17 14:19:36 shannara xl2tpd[11458]: "file" Jan 17 14:19:36 shannara xl2tpd[11458]: "/etc/ppp/options.l2tpd.client" Jan 17 14:19:36 shannara pppd[13321]: Plugin pppol2tp.so loaded. If I remove the 'lock' option, everything works as expected. Reports on the Internet indicate that this problem exists since version 1.3.7 of xl2tpd If the configuration files are needed, I can send them with sensitive information removed. -- System Information: Debian Release: buster/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 4.14.0-3-amd64 (SMP w/12 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=de_CH.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_CH.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=de_CH.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages xl2tpd depends on: ii libc6 2.26-4 ii libpcap0.8 1.8.1-6 ii lsb-base 9.20170808 ii ppp 2.4.7-1+4 xl2tpd recommends no packages. xl2tpd suggests no packages. -- Configuration Files: /etc/init.d/xl2tpd changed [not included] /etc/xl2tpd/l2tp-secrets [Errno 13] Keine Berechtigung: '/etc/xl2tpd/l2tp-secrets' /etc/xl2tpd/xl2tpd.conf changed [not included] -- no debconf information
