would uploading the current version of davical (1.1.7) to jessie-backports-sloppy be a solution for you? Alternatively, there's davical-current at https://people.debian.org/~fsfs/davical-current/setup.sh where I should upload 1.1.7 shortly. I have little experience updating packages in stable releases of Debian, or fixing things in -backports that haven't been fixed in the corresponding "next release". From my point of view, all of 1.1.3 -> 1.1.7 are bugfix releases, although we haven't limited ourselves to strictly fixing important bugs only, so these may be difficult for a stable release manager to accept (and indeed there's no guarantee that we didn't introduce any regression, as you have found out). I'm afraid we lack the bandwith to maintain more than the one "current" version of davical... So what's the way forward? Florian (with my DAViCal hat on)
