Package: enemies-of-carlotta Version: 1.2.1-1 Severity: normal EOC does not verify that its calls to sendmail succeed. There are various reasons why it might fail, one of which I've tripped on: my MTA, Courier, starts failing with 421 when too many recipients are specified; I have verified that the exit status is nonzero in such a case.
Of course, this case will be difficult to handle, as you cannot tell what the error is. Silent failure is, however, a very unpleasant surprise. (The same problem apparently occurs with SMTP delivery, too.) (Obviously the solution to my immediate problem is to raise the Courier limit, but I think the general problem needs attention, too.) -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.4.26-bytemark-uml-20040706-1 Locale: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] (charmap=ISO-8859-15) Versions of packages enemies-of-carlotta depends on: ii procmail 3.22-11 Versatile e-mail processor ii python 2.3.5-2 An interactive high-level object-o -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
