Package: enemies-of-carlotta
Version: 1.2.1-1
Severity: normal

EOC does not verify that its calls to sendmail succeed. There are
various reasons why it might fail, one of which I've tripped on: my MTA,
Courier, starts failing with 421 when too many recipients are specified;
I have verified that the exit status is nonzero in such a case.

Of course, this case will be difficult to handle, as you cannot tell
what the error is. Silent failure is, however, a very unpleasant
surprise.

(The same problem apparently occurs with SMTP delivery, too.)

(Obviously the solution to my immediate problem is to raise the Courier
limit, but I think the general problem needs attention, too.)
