I'm not Brian, but I have the same screen size, and I get the same
failure mode that Brian reported, under both GNOME-on-Wayland and
GNOME-on-Xorg:

(That's 10px too tall: it seems to have been rounded up to the next
multiple of 16px, but if this game wants a 16px grid, it should probably
round down and display a black "letterbox" instead.)
I also couldn't find a UI option for fullscreen, only the -fullscreen
command-line argument: is that expected?
