Here's a copy of what we included in bug reports before we removed libunique3 from Debian recently. The libunique3 library is in maintenance mode and its usage is strongly discouraged [1]. Our plan is to remove libunique3 from the archive so it is not released with stretch. [ happened for Buster not Stretch ] Applications should use the GtkApplication class provided by GTK+ 3.0. Under [2] you will find a porting guide for migrating from using Unique to GApplication or GtkApplication.
