As far as I am aware, there is no desktop using gconf any more. Debian GNOME Stretch and Ubuntu 17.04+ (at least default Ubuntu flavor) did not include gconf by default. I don't know if we'll be able to completely remove gconf before Buster's release, but we are trying to get the number of packages using gconf as low as possible. Thanks, Jeremy Bicha
