Several other xmpp clients natively support XEP-0184, and there has been a thread discussing it officially: https://developer.pidgin.im/ticket/6940 Currently, several other distributions have already included this plugin, (e.g. https://www.archlinux.org/packages/community/x86_64/pidgin-xmpp-receipts/ , https://packages.gentoo.org/packages/x11-plugins/pidgin-xmpp-receipts , https://software.opensuse.org/package/pidgin-xmpp-receipts ) while debian and its descendants not.
