David, I'm very sorry that it took me so long to recognise your advise as useful. Thank you and apologies for my mistake. You were right, setting "QT_QPA_PLATFORM=offscreen" allows to run all the scripts from http://phantomjs.org/screen-capture.html without Xvfb-run. Also instead of setting "QT_QPA_PLATFORM" environment variable one can invoke phantomjs with "-platform offscreen" options. I will mention that in README.Debian... -- Regards, Dmitry Smirnov.
