Package: ispell Version: 3.1.20.0-4.2 Severity: important When the HOME environment variable is not set, ispell does not open the personal dictionary, even if it was explicitly specified on the command line. This results in a problem when calling ispell from a cgi script, since apache doesn't set HOME.
Once the problem is known, the workaround is obvious: export HOME=~ ispell -pdictionary ... -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.11 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Versions of packages ispell depends on: ii dictionaries-common 0.65.2 Common utilities for spelling dict ii ibritish [ispell-dictionary 3.1.20.0-4.2 A British English dictionary for i ii idutch [ispell-dictionary] 1:0.1e-41 Dutch dictionary for ispell ii libc6 2.3.6-1 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libncurses5 5.5-1 Shared libraries for terminal hand Versions of packages ispell recommends: ii miscfiles [wordlist] 1.4.2-3 Dictionaries and other interesting ii wbritish [wordlist] 6-2 British English dictionary words f ii wcatalan [wordlist] 0.4-6 Catalan dictionary words for /usr/ ii wdutch [wordlist] 1:0.1e-41 list of Dutch words -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
