There is a similar bug in Red Hat Bugzilla, https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1306522
which is "CLOSED WONTFIX" and indicates that upstream doesn't support badblocks on large devices (maybe doesn't support badblocks at all?)
