SYSTEMCTL_SKIP_REDIRECT is an internal implementation detail of the systemd lsb hook and should *never* be used in an init scripts directly. You should get to the bottom this and find out why the SysV init script is slow to start up instead of applying workarounds/hacks. @Thomas: Please remove this hack from the init script -- Why is it that all of the instruments seeking intelligent life in the universe are pointed away from Earth?
