In the particular application that led me to support layer selection
on the command line, I actually need to keep the canvas dimensions.
But it seems fair to provide autocropping as an option.

Hmm... the short-option-letter space is getting crowded. Argh, this
program is too young to die of featuritis! What about -C/--autocrop?
