Dear all, While it might seem strange (or not) there is a reason behind that query. From what I have been able to ascertain (please let me know if I'm correct in my assumptions or not) MS-Windows put NTFS 3.1 in Windows XP and after whatever iterations of the filesystems have been done, they all have been called NTFS 3.1 only. I have an external hdd which works flawlessely under Debian and GNU/Linux but under MS-Windows it shows 3.1 and sometimes I have to correct tt > sudo ntfsfix -d /dev/sdb1 > [95%] Mounting volume... $MFTMirr does not match $MFT (record 28).
