Package: sane Version: 1.0.14-12 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
by using samsung multifunction-devices sane works only some seconds after plugin the usb-cable. After that printing is possible but no scanning. Solution: 1. comment out the device-line in /etc/sane.d/xerox_mfp.conf 2. Add deb http://www.bchemnet.com/suldr/ debian extra to /etc/apt/sources.list 3. apt update 4. apt install suldr-keyring suld-ppd-2 suld-driver-common-1 suld- driver-4.01.17 suld-configurator-1-qt4 Then the scanner is no longer ""xerox_mfp:..." but "smfp:SAMSUNG..." and it works in all situations. with regards Andreas Matthus -- System Information: Debian Release: 9.1 APT prefers stable APT policy: (990, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 4.9.0-3-amd64 (SMP w/3 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE= (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages sane depends on: ii libc6 2.24-11+deb9u1 ii libgimp2.0 2.8.18-1 ii libglib2.0-0 2.50.3-2 ii libgtk2.0-0 2.24.31-2 ii libsane 1.0.25-4.1 sane recommends no packages.
