Hi. When I install krb5-kdc, it logs to syslog not to /var/log/krb5kdc.log. Where in the files installed by the krb5-kdc package are you seeing configuration to install to /var/log/krb5kdc.log. I agree upstream configures (or in some cases recommends configuring) things that way, but I'm not seeing that in the Debian package.
