Thanks, it looks as though web.archive.org has changed its behaviour:
this URL used to provide the image directly, now it provides a HTML
wrapper around the image. I've adjusted the URLs for the next g-d-p
release. Unreal Tournament (ut99) had the same bug.

Workaround: visit that URL, download the image, save it as a file named
skaarj_logo.jpg in the same directory as the file you downloaded from
GOG, and pass that directory to game-data-packager as a command-line
argument.
