Package: mutt Version: 1.9.1-4 Severity: normal With the latest mutt package it appears that local email addresses are now created using the short host name instead of the FQDN as done previously.
With the previous mutt version: $ mutt rwp To: Bob Proulx <r...@joseki.proulx.com> With the current mutt version: $ mutt rwp To: Bob Proulx <rwp@joseki> With the default email configuration here at least the short name is not recognized and this generates a bounce[1]. In any case it seems an undesirable change. Thank you for maintaining mutt in Debian. Bob [1] Postfix includes this in the default /etc/postfix/main.cf file: # appending .domain is the MUA's job. append_dot_mydomain = no Therefore I assume there is a bug ticket for postfix tracking a discussion that caused things to arrive at that point previously. -- Package-specific info: Mutt 1.9.1 (2017-09-22) Copyright (C) 1996-2016 Michael R.
