I'm sorry you have perceived this to be a flame; that's not my intention
and whilst I have no wish to speak for Kevin, I doubt it's his either.
I will moderate myself more going forward.
I'm currently the maintainer of the mutt package and I have made my
commitment to Kevin in multiple occasions to fix the current situation
and I'm going to fix it.
You certainly have, but what you haven't done is actually spell out what
you are going to do, which is why I'm trying to explore the technical
issues in this bug. This is quite a complex problem with subtle
repercussions for whichever route you take.
