if Thunderbird was working before you have updated your system it's unlikely that Thunderbird is the root for your problem. This sounds more like a problem related to the desktop environment you use or some updates X packages. The error message shows clearly Thunderbird is unable to connect to a running x-server. I assume you have already restarted your machine to drop possible issues related to kernel, dbus or X updates? Which DE you are using, do have something changed related to the X-server setup? Which graphic setup you are running? Some problems with a nvidia kernel modul in case you use such hardware? You can also use 'thunderbird --verbose' to see a bit more messages what the wrapper script is doing or try to do. -- Regards Carsten Schoenert
