Yes, we talked about it in the past. At that time, I had some difficulties with git-buildpackage, due probably to missing details which were implicit in the documentations, but not fulfilled by me. Since than, I had a few opportunities to interact with people who are using routinely gbp, and I managed to have my work built and synchronized properly. > and not in any VCS.
