When I am investigation contents of Debian packages I normally do that with emacs. However, since the introduction of different compressions in the deb file for the control.tar part of the ar archive, this fails with the following error (the proper format is control.tar.xz): """ no entry control.tar.gz in archive gzip: stdin: unexpected end of file """ I am not sure if emacs25 is the right package to assign it to, but I assume the emacs maintainers would know the appropriate package.
