In general, Architecture: all packages such as gsfonts can never satisfy cross build dependencies unless marked Multi-Arch: foreign. In this case, such a marking is correct, because gsfonts does not have any dependencies and its maintainer scripts only invoke update-gsfontmap, which does not have architecture-specific behaviour. Please consider applying the attached patch.
Since the fix is very straightforward and the package seems unmaintained (multiple NMUs over the years, without uploads from maintainers in this decade) I am going to upload immediately.
