Some corrections to my bug report (serves me right for not proofreading): 1. In the line “looking at the files /run/utmp and /var/log/wtmp ...”, ‘bvies’ should read ‘bview’.
2. After the dump of the output of the ‘last’ command, I should have noted that there should have been lines containing logins from :0, but there weren’t, apparently because of this bug. (I am not usually in the habit of repeatedly rebooting a machine just to watch it come up).
