Sorry I didn't get to this earlier - it sort of got lost in my inbox. In general, the idea is a good one, but the implementation is, well, that way lies madness :) Imagine having to figure out all of the services running on a machine that use a given library and restart them all. It is technically possible of course, but it is non-trivial. In this particulare case, I also feel it's mostly a no-op, since the packages for the daemons are also upgraded at the same time, in the most common case, so it should take care of itself.
