Package: i8kutils
Version: 1.27
Severity: minor

I reported this as a gnome-swallow-applet bug (#346256) last month but
that has received no action. Perhaps it is actually an i8kmon bug?

When I add a swallow applet to my panel and configure it to run i8kmon
it works initially but when I log out and log back in to GNOME the
i8kmon runs but does not get swallowed. First I get an error dialog:

Swallower Applet: Could not find a window named "i8kmon" (ran program
"i8kmon")

Then later the i8kmon starts in it's own non-swallowed window. If I
right click on the blank area in the panel where the swallowed applet
should be I get the reconfigure menu and if I just click "ok" without
changing the already filled-in values the running applet gets
swallowed.

I have tried with several variations of configuring the applet. For
"Program to run" I have tried "i8kmon" and "/usr/bin/i8kmon". For
"Window name to swallow" I have tried "i8kmon" and I have tried
leaving it blank. I get the same behavior every time: it works at
first but fails to work on re-login.

The man page for i8kmon says:
The program can be ... swallowed in the gnome panel.

I have had this problem under both sarge and etch.
