Package: amavisd-new
Version: 1:2.3.3-6
Severity: wishlist

The /usr/share/doc/amavis/README.Debian file mentions two things that needs to
be enabled for clamav to work perfectly with
amavisd-new, first that clamd must use supplementary groups and that you need
to add the clamav user to the amavis group.

Both conditions need to be fulfulled before the setup works correctly.
Specifically you first need to

1. Add the directive 'AllowSupplementaryGroups' to /etc/clamav/clamd.conf.
2. Add the user clamav to the group amavis.
(And then restart clamavd and amavis.)

Otherwise you will get errors in /var/log/mail.err.

I think this could be explained more clearly.

Thanks
