We are aware of this, and, actually, it is now available in the 'experimental' section of the Debian archive as you can see in the information provided here: http://packages.qa.debian.org/j/john.html The 1.7 packages have not (yet) been moved to the main ftp servers but in a few days you will find them available at http://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/j/john/ Regards Javier
