We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of
sane-backends, which is due to be installed in the Debian FTP archive.
I've tested the new backend from experimental with libsane 1.0.25-4.1 on
Debian 8.9 Jessie and I always obtain a black image when I perform a
scan with both simple-scan and scanimage.
To be sure I was completely clear:
- I'm using Debian 8.9
- I've got libsane packages from Stretch
- I've upgraded libsane-common from experimental but not libsane1
because it breaks lot of package of the system because it break libsane.
(I've discovered libsane1 after sending the previous message)
Best regards.
