Package: gr-fcdproplus Version: 3.7.25.4b6464b-4 Severity: serious User: debian...@lists.debian.org Usertags: piuparts
Hi, during a test with piuparts I noticed your package fails to upgrade from 'stable'. It installed fine in 'stable', then the upgrade to 'sid' fails because it tries to overwrite other packages files without declaring a Breaks+Replaces relation. See policy 7.6 at https://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-relationships.html#s-replaces This test intentionally skips 'testing' to find file overwrite problems before packages migrate from 'unstable' to 'testing'. >From the attached log (scroll to the bottom...): Selecting previously unselected package gr-fcdproplus. Preparing to unpack .../14-gr-fcdproplus_3.7.25.4b6464b-4_amd64.deb ... Unpacking gr-fcdproplus (3.7.25.4b6464b-4) ... dpkg: error processing archive /tmp/apt-dpkg-install-8H4jpD/14-gr-fcdproplus_3.7.25.4b6464b-4_amd64.deb (--unpack): trying to overwrite '/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/pkgconfig/gnuradio-fcdproplus.pc', which is also in package libgnuradio-fcdproplus3.7.10 3.7.25.4b6464b-2+b2 Errors were encountered while processing: /tmp/apt-dpkg-install-8H4jpD/14-gr-fcdproplus_3.7.25.4b6464b-4_amd64.deb After moving the .pc file to a different package, you of course need to add (versioned) Breaks+Replaces against the packages that previously contained the file. In this case that should be: Breaks: libgnuradio-fcdproplus3.7.10 (<< 3.7.25.4b6464b-3), libgnuradio-fcdproplus3.7.11 (<< 3.7.25.4b6464b-4), Replaces: libgnuradio-fcdproplus3.7.10 (<< 3.7.25.4b6464b-3), libgnuradio-fcdproplus3.7.11 (<< 3.7.25.4b6464b-4), cheers, Andreas
