Package: debian-install Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate *** * What led up to the situation? DVD install of 9.1 on the 10th Sept with 3 DVDs (1st DVD was an unofficial firmware, the other 2 were official DVDs 2 and 3), prompt asked me if I wanted to load DVD X and to load said DVD, but the CDROM wouldn't open. * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? ...so I had to say 'no' to using the DVD in order to go forward, and tried to put the DVD in later when it was no longer asking me for it. * What was the outcome of this action? I can't assess teh consequences. Partial install? This is particularly bad as I have no idea if my system is correctly installed, which then puts me in doubt when ever anythign else goes wrong. * What outcome did you expect instead? The CDROM should have been openable at the time of the prompts and questions so that you can put in the correct DVD and complete the full install. *** End of the template - remove these template lines *** -- System Information: Debian Release: 9.1 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 4.9.0-3-amd64 (SMP w/6 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_GB:en (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system)
